If I kiss her while she’s asleep, she always kisses back.
If I tell her I love her while she’s asleep, she says it back. Bonus: if I whisper it, she whispers back too.
If I shift around on the bed and get close to her shoulder, she kisses my forehead immediately.
If I ask to cuddle, she immediately puts her arms around me and kisses me.
Every time, she does this and goes right back to sleep. She’s only conscious for that split second it takes to respond. She has no memory of this in the morning. It makes me feel so special and safe.
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve had a habit of talking to inanimate objects. “There you are, pencil!”, “Okay teakettle, I can hear you, shut up”, etc.
Since moving in with my boyfriend, and where we’ve been in quarantine forever, whenever I talk to an inanimate object, “Come on, computer, work with me here”, he’ll hold his mouth closed and do a silly voice and respond, “I’m trying my best, Numia, but we’re all tired here”.
“Thanks, doorbell!”
“You’re welcome!”
It warms my heart all the way through, I love it, and him so very much.
